Una National Park in Bosnia is home to two very large waterfalls, Martin Brod and Štrbački.
The easily accessible Martin Brod site also offers a hiking trail to the heights and remarkable forest sites, sometimes very steep, along the Una River. There is a disused railway line, so fans of dark tunnels will find something to their liking. The main waterfall at Martin Brod is very powerful, and a second waterfall is located a few minutes’ walk above the main site. The very wide river then continues its impetuous course.
Štrbački, more remote and a little more difficult to access from the small village of Orasac, offers a very wide cascade, 25 meters high, to be admired. The Una River forms the border with Croatia here. These two sites evoke the splendor of isolated waterfalls, and form a significant contrast with the multitude of cascades that one could appreciate at Plitvice.
