Do you encounter problems to listen to the files ?
The music is available in three formats :
- Flac, Free Lossless Audio Codec, enables to compress the sound files without any loss, delivering the same quality as the original .wav files. But as it's lossless, the files remain somewhat large. The official site gives links to install the codec very quickly for MS-Windows.
- Ogg Vorbis is a completely open, patent-free, professional audio encoding and streaming technology. Ogg Vorbis can be compared to mp3 format, as its destructive compression provides much smaller files than Flac. One of the best free multimedia players for MS-Windows can perfectly decode and play Ogg files, it's Zinf.
- Mp3 is a non free and patented encoding format. Maybe tomorrow musicians will by law, have to pay licence fees to encode their music as mp3 files. From that day on, there will be no more mp3 files on this site. But presently, for the convenience of many people, you can download my music encoded in this widely used destructive compression technology.
What was used to make this music ?
The evolution of technology and computer science provides nowadays all I
need to compose, produce and distribute the music I hear and feel on
the Internet, with a computer, average loudspeakers,
a RME sound
card, and my guitars.
All the music you can hear on this site was made with a PC running
standard musical software.
My electric guitar is a Blade
Levinson Jazzmaster model, pre-amplified with
a Mesa Boogie. It embeds
a Roland GK/2 - GR50 system for MIDI
conversion. The Mesa Boogie is the only source of distorsion for the
Blade.
I also own an old vintage Ovation guitar which remains absolutely excellent with its 25 years of age :-).
